Locking Blog Photos Part II

The previous blog entry was a test to see if I could pull the tags off the blogger uploader so that you can't click on the pictures and enlarge them. I have my blog locked so you can't right click, but a friend of mine noted that when you click on the picture, it takes it to another screen where you can then right click and download the picture. I believe I have fixed this issue. You shouldn't be able to click on the pictures in the previous entry and enlarge them. They should be static.

Here is how I did it. The following is the code I see in the "Edit HTML" side of composing a blog entry.

I added the red to show you what I deleted. After you delete that code, go into the preview screen and try clicking on the photos. If you get a message asking you if you really want to navagate away from the page, you did something wrong. If nothing happens, you did it right. Also, if you see some wierd code by your pictures, or your picture didn't show up, you either didn't delete everything you should have, or you deleted too much.

Please try it and let me know what you think and if it works for you.

4th of July Celebrations

We went to visit my wife's parents in Soda Springs for the holiday weekend. All of my wife's sisters and their families were there. The cousins had a fabulous time playing together. And of course, Grandma & Grandpa really spoil the kids.

While we were in Soda Springs they had several torrential hail storms. As you can see there was a lot of hail coming off the roof and piling in this spot.

We decided to dress the kids up with a little red, white & blue theme & take their pictures by these american flags.

I thought this picture was really funny. The girls started getting into a giggling war!

Here is my sweet daughter with her hair all done up pretty with red, white & blue ribbons in her hair. Right after this, we headed off to main street to watch the parade and let the kids get candy thrown at them from the floats.

Locking Blog Photos

I have had several requests from people who want to know how to lock their blogs so people don't steal pictures. I was given this site when I asked the same question. It is really easy to do. It only takes 5 minutes.

Here is the raw link if the one above doesn't work:

I strongly suggest taking the 5 minutes to do this. I heard a story about a lady whose picture ended up on a HUGE ad in Italy (or somewhere). One of her friends saw it as they were traveling. I don't care who uses my pictures, I just like to know about it.

Africanized Killer Bees

The other day my wife called me and said there were some bees in our neighbor's tree. I told her to get the bee killer spray and spray them. I didn't realize just how many bees there actually were.

Can you believe how many bees there are on this tree? My wife said before the bees settled here on the tree they were swarming and swirling around the tree for a while. She said it was bizarr and looked like the movies.

Our neighbors had recently paid to have an exterminator spray around their house and eves for bees and wasps. Fortunately they made one simple phone call and the exterminator came back for free. They now have a ring of fir around the base of their tree that consists of dead bees.

Ironically, one of my back-door neighbors called over the fence to me today and asked if I had seen anything unusual... like dead bees. He said he never even saw any bees flying around and then all of a sudden, he had hundreds of dead bees on his back patio. We had hundreds of dead bees on our front & back portch and on our driveway and sidewalks. So did several neighbors. It was really bizzar!

Well, thanks to the exterminator killing millions of bees, but then the several hundred that lived decided to plant themselves in our tree. So, in the middle of the night when it was cooler, I nearly drained a brand new bottle of bee killer spray. The kind that has a 30 foot spray. It worked. No more bees in our trees. Unfortunately, the kids can't play in the yard because there are tons of dead bees.

Watch out for the bees!

Hike to Snowbird's summit

This morning I decided to take my son & my dad hiking. We hiked up to the top of Hidden Peak at Snowbird. We sure did have fun. I just can't believe what an awesome hiker Brandon is. He really impressed me. That was a very difficult hike. We ascended 3,000 feet to 11,000 feet. It was nearly 4.5 miles. It was VERY rewarding to ride the tram down instead of hike. I under estimated the temperature at the top with the wind. It was about 50 degrees and only my dad had a jacket.

Makenna is six!

Makenna is six now! I can't believe how big she is. She has so much personality and is so smart and nice. She had a blast opening presents (of course).

Nicole was really excited to give her this American Girl doll. It is supposed to look just like Makenna. It even has earrings.

Here is a picture of this beautiful cake before we devoured it.

I thought I would get a shot of all the kids excitedly waiting for the candles to be lit & blown out.

Sugar Factory Photo Shoot

We finally took some time and got some family pictures. It was a ton of fun. Several times I just put the camera on the tripod, set the 10 second timer... and ran! Nicole took some of the pictures, and we also let the kids take some.

Here is one that actually turned out. It was quite funny to see some of them where I am getting settled, but not ready.
